According to the latest statistics provided by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the island also recorded 695 new cases, which leaves Jamaica’s cumulative coronavirus caseload at 28,968.

The testing positivity rate, taken from 1,664 public samples, has risen to 37 per cent, up from 34 per cent recorded on Wednesday.

The country is currently managing 13,479 active cases while 14,781 persons have made a full recovery from the infectious disease.

A total of 310 Jamaicans are being treated at hospital for the coronavirus, a 10.7 per cent jump, when compared to the 277 admissions, recorded the day before.
