14-y-o girl charged with murder in fatal stabbing of teen boy in Portmore

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy during a dispute in the Beverly Flat community of Newland, Portmore, St Catherine.

The deceased has been identified as Duscane Elliot.

According to reports from the Portmore police, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Friday, September 5.

The teen girl allegedly went to Elliot’s home and attempted to set his clothes on fire. An argument reportedly developed between the two during which the accused used half of a pair of scissors to stab Elliot in the chest.

The police were called, and Elliot was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The girl was later taken into custody and, according to the police, gave a caution statement admitting to the crime.

A court date is currently being finalised.
