19-y-o charged with possession of a prohibited weapon

The police have charged a 19-year-old with the possession of a prohibited weapon and assault at common law following an incident on March 3.

He is Demari Rhoome, a labourer of a Paul Mount address in Above Rocks, St Catherine.

Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that at about 10:30 am, a man was on his property when he saw Rhoome sitting on his step.

It is alleged that Rhoome left and returned with a firearm pointed it at the complainant and threatened to kill him.

A report was made to the police and an investigation commenced.

Rhoome was later arrested and subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised for the teen.
