A high-level investigation by the police into the recent Beryllium robbery in Manchester has resulted in the recovery of J$2.5 million and the arrest of four suspects.
A woman is said to be among the four arrested for the multimillion-dollar heist at the Caledonia Avenue, Mandeville branch of Scotiabank on August 25.
The identities of the suspects are being withheld pending charges.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey provided the update at a press briefing yesterday. He noted that the high-level investigation continues into the robbery, and more updates will follow as it progresses.
Reports are that security guards from Beryllium were challenged by gunmen, who opened gunfire on them as they transported cash from the bank. The robbers escaped with two bags of an undetermined amount of money.
Six persons were shot and are undergoing treatment at the Mandeville Regional Hospital.
