The police are reporting that two Taurus pistols, along with three magazines and 27 rounds of ammunition, are now off the streets following an operation by the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) on Sunday, September 24.

A man has also been taken into custody following Sunday’s seizure. His identity is being withheld by the police amid ongoing investigation.

The operation was led by members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF), the St Andrew North police, and the Major Investigation Division.

“A JAGTF team was conducting pursuit operations along a section of Lyndhurst Road in Kingston when they interdicted a man who had an illegal firearm. A Taurus 9mm pistol and a magazine containing fifteen (15) 9mm rounds were recovered during the engagement,” the police said in a statement on Monday, September 25.

Another Taurus pistol, two magazines, and 12 rounds of ammunition were seized during another operation in Grants Pen, St Andrew, where there is ongoing gang violence.

The police say it is highly likely that this man is linked to the ongoing gang feud.
