20-year-old charged with murder

Twenty-year-old Tyrese Ryman is facing several charges in connection to the shooting of 16-year-old Nigel Johnson, otherwise called ‘JJ,’ of Rodney Road, Kingston 13.

Johnson was reportedly shot and killed by Ryman, otherwise called ‘Reeseman,’ of West Avenue, Kingston 13, at the intersection of Ashley Road and Metcalf Road in Kingston 13 on Saturday, May 25.

He has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, possession of prohibited weapons, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 9:15 pm, Johnson was walking along the
roadway when Ryman and other men approached him and opened gunfire, hitting him.

The police were summoned, and on their arrival, Johnson was seen with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

After months of intense investigations, it led to the arrest of Ryman. He was later charged after a question-and-answer interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being arranged.
