TV Time, a tracking platform and social television network for TV and movies, has released the Top 21 most viewed Subscription Video on Demand (SOVD) for January 1, 2021 through to December 16, 2021.

There are American, Spanish, British and even Korean shows in the mix.

21. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)

Another adaptation of the popular Sabrina The Teenage Witch comic, this series follows 15-year-old Sabrina who nears her 16th birthday. Sabrina is faced with choosing between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends.

20. Virgin River (2019)

Wanting a new and fresh start, nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, moves from the City of Angels to a remote Northern California Town and is surprised by who she finds.

19. Locke and Key (2020)

Based on comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, three Locke siblings and their mother, following the murder of their father, move into their ancestral home, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death.

18. Bridgerton (2020)

This film was all the rave when it was just released. Set in the Regency area, the series zooms in on wealth, lust and betrayal seen through the eyes of the wealthy Bridgerton family. Fans are now left to wonder what will become of season 3 as Rege-Jean Page, who plays the loveable Simon Bassett, will not be returning to the film.

16. Who Killed Sara (2021)

Hell-bent on seeking revenge and revealing the real culprit of his sister’s murder, Alex, played by Manolo Cardona, sets out to unearth a lot more than his sister’s killer. The series, originally in Spanish, can be watched in English dub or with subtitles on Netflix.

Sam a teenager on the spectrum of autism, decides he is ready for romance. Sam, who will have to become more independent to achieve his dream, pushes those around him to exact change in their lives as well. His mother, father and sister are seen adjusting their ways and explore what it means to be normal, in order to better understand Sam.

14. Ted Lasso (2020)

Although having no experience whatsoever, Ted Lasso, a small-time American football coach, is hired to train a professional football club in England. However, what he lacks in knowledge of the game he calls soccer, he makes up for in optimism, determination and biscuits.

This Netflix original tells the stories in the life of Queen Elizabeth II, from as early as the 1940s to modern times. The show takes a look at personal intrigue, romance and political rivalry which shaped the second half of the 20th Century. It is based on the award-winning play, The Audience, by showrunner Peter Morgan.

This mismatched duo team up for a global adventure. Theyare both tested in patience and survival. The TV mini-series follows the events of Avengers: Endgame.

10. Loki (2021)

Superhero. 1 Season

Another superhero/villain from the MCU on this list, Loki the God of Mischief, goes beyond his brother Thor’s shadow and embarks on an adventure. Like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the events in Loki take place after Avengers: End Game… as well as before Endgame and various other stops on the mind-bending timeline.

9. Sex Education (2019)

Drama . 3 Seasons

This British-comedy drama follows the life of Otis, an awkward high school student who does not have much experience in the love making arena but receives some guidance on the subject from his Sex Ed course. In addition to this, his mother Jean is a sex therapist and he is surrounded by manuals, videos and open conversations about the topic, making him quite the expert. After his classmates learn about his home life and library of knowledge, Otis forms a team with whip-smart bad girl Maeve where they set up an underground sex therapy clinic to help others with their problems.

8. Lupin (2021)

This is a retelling of the classic French story about Arsène Lupin, a world famous gentleman thief and master of disguise. Lupin sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family.

7. The Handmaids Tale (2017)

Sci-Fi . 4 Seasons

Stuck in a dystopian atmosphere, June is forced to live as a concubine with an officer and his wife. Although forced to live by their strict rules and regulations, June does not lose the hope of one day reuniting with her daughter.

6. You (2020)

Thriller . 3 Seasons

The series tells the life story of a bookstore manager who, at surface level, leads an awkward but ordinary life. However, overtime, the audience is shown just how far he is willing to go for the sake of ‘love’, as absolutely no one and nothing will get in the way of his sinister obsession.

5. WandaVision (2021)

Sitcom/Superhero . 1 season

Another in the slew of characters from the MCU on this list, WandaVision combines a classic sitcom with the MCU world. Wanda Maximoff and Vision, two super-powered characters, live their lives as ordinary suburban people but soon begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

4. Elite (2019)

Drama . Season 4

When three not-so-wealthy students enroll in an exclusive private school in Spain, a clash between them and the wealthy Las Encinas students leads to murder. The English-dubbed version of the series can be watched on Netflix.

3. Squid Games (2021)

Korean Drama/Thriller . 1 Season

This series caused quite the stir when it first hit screens worldwide. Squid Game follows hundreds of contestants who accept an invitation for a tempting prize. But the stakes may result in fatality.

2. Money Heist (2017)

Crime-Drama/Thriller . 5 Seasons

Eight people are recruited to carry out The Professors master plan of the biggest recorded heist in history which is to to print billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. The group of eight all house different skills and have nothing to lose. They take a several hostages to aid in their negotiations with the authorities. As time elapses, the thieves prepare for a showdown with the police.

1. Lucifer (2016)

Mystery . 6 Seasons

Released in 2016, Lucifer is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. Lucifer, the original fallen angel, dissatisfied with his life in hell, retires to Los Angles to enjoy his favourite things. After a murder takes place not far from the fallen angel, unfamiliar feelings such as compassion and sympathy are awakened in Lucifer. Meeting an intriguing detective along the way, the devil himself begins to wonder if there is hope for his soul.
