21-y-o farmer charged in 2022 double homicide at Kingston fast-food outlet

Twenty-one-year-old Shadrick Thompson, a farmer residing on Homestead Road in Kingston 8, has been charged in connection with the 2022 brawl in which two men died in a car park on Barbican Road, Kingston 6.

The deceased, Kaheem Harris and Ackeem Morgan, both from Confidence View Lane, Standpipe, Kingston 6, died after sustaining injuries in the brawl on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

According to reports from the Half-Way Tree police, the incident unfolded around 6:50 a.m. when Harris and Morgan were using the drive-thru at a food establishment. An argument erupted between them and several other men, including Thompson, who were waiting in line. The altercation escalated as additional men in another vehicle, armed with knives and machetes, joined the fracas. Harris and Morgan were attacked, stabbed and chopped during the altercation. They were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Following investigations into the incident, Thompson was apprehended in St Mary on August 31. On September 6, he was officially charged with murder after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney. Previously, 20-year-old Garlon Holmes, also known as ‘Nippy,’ from Norman Avenue in Kingston 2, was charged in connection with the same incident.

The alleged accomplices of Thompson and Holmes are still at large, and the police are appealing to them to surrender themselves at the nearest police station.
