
Twenty-two-year-old Damaine Evans, a security guard of Southfield district, St Elizabeth, was charged with simple larceny after allegedly stealing goods worth nearly $1 million from a supermarket in Junction, St Elizabeth.
Reports from the Black River police are that between Saturday, March 30 and Saturday, April 6 Evans, who was assigned as security at the supermarket, stole meat, bread, liquor and other items valued over J$ 950,000.
A report was subsequently made to the police after he was caught stealing additional items.
He was arrested and charged; however, his court date is being finalised.
