24-y-o man charged for 2021 murder of West Cumberland businessman

The police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man for the 2021 murder of West Cumberland businessman, 58-year-old Norman Dunkley.

Marques Ellis was charged with murder, illegal possession of firearm and illegal possession of ammunition following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney on Wednesday, March 13.

Dunkley was shot and killed on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 on Trelawny Avenue, Riverton City, Kingston 11.

Reports from the Duhaney Park police are that about 10:40 a.m., on the aforementioned date, Ellis and his two accomplices, all armed with handguns, pounced upon Dunkley as he drove his blue Toyota Surf motor truck along the roadway. The men opened gunfire hitting him before escaping into the area. Dunkley was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Ellis was taken into custody on Wednesday March 13, after a confrontation with lawmen in the
Riverton City community.

His court date is being finalised.
