Briton nabbed after J$28 million cocaine bust at Sangster’s Int’l Airport

Police have confirmed that arrest of a British national, who was caught with five kilograms of cocaine at the Donald Sangster International Airport on Friday (May 12) on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Detectives from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Narcotics Division carried out the bust in Montego Bay.

Reports are that at about 3:00 pm, the woman was about to board a flight to London when her luggage was searched.

During the search, five packages of cocaine, attracting a street value of over J$28 million was found concealed in her luggage. She was subsequently arrested.

Her identity is being withheld as investigators continue their probe.
