The action-packed video game summer continues hot off the trails of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Three major franchises are releasing their long awaited sequels to multiple platforms: Street Fighter, Diablo, and Final Fantasy.

Check them out below:

Street Fighter 6

Release date: June 2

Capcom’s legendary fighting game returns with its next entry in the franchise Street Fighter 6, offering a comprehensive and approachable package that welcomes both seasoned players and newcomers alike.

The game features three main game modes: Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub. In Fighting Ground, players can engage in local and online versus battles, as well as training and arcade modes, using the familiar 2D fighting gameplay from previous Street Fighter games. World Tour offers a single-player story mode where players can customize their avatar and explore 3D environments, engaging in action-adventure gameplay. Battle Hub serves as an online lobby mode, allowing players to compete in ranked or casual matches, participate in special events, play emulated Capcom arcade titles, and more.

The core gameplay of Street Fighter 6 revolves around the Drive Gauge, a system that encourages player creativity. The gauge can be used for five different techniques, and players must decide which ones to prioritize. Many of the mechanics in the Drive Gauge are inspired by previous Street Fighter games, such as Parry, Focus Attack, and EX moves. The game offers three control types: classic, modern, and dynamic, each with its own layout and functionality.

The game will be available on these platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X

Diablo IV

Release date: June 6

This action role playing game 10 years in the making is set in the Diablo series’ world of Sanctuary, and takes place 50 years after the events Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Cultists have summoned the main antagonist and daughter of Mephisto, Lilith. After the events of previous games, the forces of demons and angels have been depleted, allowing an opening for her to establish power in Sanctuary.

The gameplay revolves around defeating enemies to obtain stronger equipment and progressing through quests and combat. The game features re-playable, procedurally generated dungeons and a focus on loot-based character-building.

New features include an open world and player versus player interactions. Character effectiveness in combat is determined by attributes and equipped items, with offensive and defensive stats playing a role. Diablo IV introduces new attributes: Angelic, Demonic, and Ancestral Power. Weapons and gear have varying rarity, and players can customize them with runes and runewords.

The game will be available on these platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

Final Fantasy 16

Release date: June 22

Final Fantasy XVI is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. It is the sixteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series and a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5.

Final Fantasy XVI aims to deliver a dark fantasy storyline with broad appeal and rejuvenate the series.

The game takes place in a world called Valisthea, divided between six nations that hold power through magical Crystals and Dominants. The protagonist, Clive Rosfield, witnesses his kingdom’s destruction and sets out on a revenge quest against the dark Eikon Ifrit.

The gameplay of Final Fantasy XVI is action-based, featuring segmented open environments and a combat system that involves melee and magic-based attacks.
