
A three-year-old girl, Lushana and her father, 29-year-old Luchion Bennett, died Monday afternoon after the BMW in which they were travelling crashed in a cow pasture on the May Pen to Williamsfield section of Highway 2000 in Clarendon.
It is reported that about 2:05 pm, the child and her father, along with a female companion, were travelling in the westbound lane when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a tyre blowout, and it went off the road and crashed in the cow pasture.
The man and the child were reportedly flung from the vehicle.
Statistics from the police show that up to 6:00 am on Monday, 215 fatalities were recorded on the nation’s roads since the start of the year, compared to 211 for the corresponding period last year.
