After the summer blockbuster explosion that brought us the latest instalment of ‘Mission Impossible’ and ‘Barbenheimer’ in July, this month Cinema lovers can expect a more tempered experience.

Our Today has picked for you five movies worth going to the cinema to watch.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return in an animated superhero movie, directed by Jeff Rowe.

The film, although computer animated, is designed to replicate a style similar to stop-motion animation. Join Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael as they embark on a quest to become accepted as normal teenagers in New York City. With the help of April O’Neil, voiced by Ayo Edebiri, they face off against a mysterious crime syndicate and an army of mutants.

The voice cast includes Hannibal Buress, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Giancarlo Esposito, Post Malone, Seth Rogen, and Paul Rudd.

The film releases on August 2.

Meg 2: The Trench

Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing the sci-fi, action, and horror sequel directed by Ben Wheatley.

Jason Statham and Wu Jing’s characters lead a daring research team on an exploratory dive into the ocean depths. However, they find themselves facing not only colossal Megalodons but also relentless environmental plunderers. Prepare for an intense battle for survival, with Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, and Cliff Curtis. The film releases on August 4.

Gran Turismo


Inspired by the popular video game series, ‘Gran Turismo’ is a biographical sports movie directed by Neil Blomkamp.

Follow the journey of ambition, competition, and determination, a true story of Jann Mardenborough, portrayed by Archie Madekwe, a Gran Turismo player who aspires to be a professional race car driver.

The star-studded cast includes David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou, Geri Halliwell, and Darren Barnet.

The film will be released on August 11.

The Pod Generation


Step into a not-so-distant future with this sci-fi rom-com directed by Sophie Barthes. Emilia Clarke and Chiwetel Ejiofor play a couple in New York who embark on a high-tech parenting journey offered by tech giant Pegasus.

Using detachable artificial wombs or pods, they share their pregnancy experience, leading to a heartwarming and humorous adventure. The movie also features Rosalie Craig, Vignette Robinson, and Kathryn Hunter.

This film will be released on August 11.

Blue Beetle

Join the DC Extended Universe as it introduces the superhero ‘Blue Beetle’, played by Xolo Maridueña.

Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, the movie follows Jaime Reyes, who becomes the symbiotic host to the Scarab, an ancient alien relic, gaining an exoskeleton armor with incredible powers.

Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez round out the cast of this action-packed adventure. The film will be released on August 18
