5 things to know about education consultant Rachael McDonald

Known by many as the founder of Fundaciones, Rachael McDonald has spent nearly two decades in working in education.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, McDonald has transitioned to the education consultancy and community development spaces with one of her most notable projects being “Di Cawna Library” and other little libraries across Jamaica.

In an interview with Our Today, McDonald shared five interesting facts about herself.

She loves driving!

Racheal isn’t shy around a steering wheel, she loves everything to do with driving, especially if it’s a stick shift. She said she’s also a big fan of heavy-duty construction vehicles.

She’s an 80’s baby to the core!

Rachael is a big fan of music from the 80s. She loves the music so much that she dares anyone to challenge her to name any song and any artist.

She’s the uptown bush woman

Rachael sells herbs and bushes such as sage, eucalyptus and rosemary for household and medicinal uses. You can find her as a regular on Tuesday nights at the Kingston night market or through her handle online on Instagram: @uptownbushwoman

She’s in the mental pot

Rachael loves spending time with her family and her select friend group the ‘Mental Pot’. Together they keep active by playing sports and taking part in activities such as riding, swimming and running. She even dedicates all her Saturdays to either her friends or her family.

Her choice of style is funky

Rachael said she loves ‘funky’ earrings, and likes wearing solid colours with a preference for black and white. She follows her own trends when it comes to fashion and prioritieses her own comfort.
