2. ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ by Jacob Miller and Ray I
This reggae Christmas bop was released in the year 1978 as part of the Natty Christmas album. This song is a sample of the Christmas jingle We Wish You A Merry Christmas, however the word merry is replaced with irie.
3. ‘All for Jesus’ by Ernie Smith
All for Jesus speaks more to the true meaning of Christmas which is Jesus and his birth. Released in 1974, this catchy and infectious song is definitely one to enjoy tomorrow.
4. ‘Santa Claus (Do You Ever Come to The Ghetto)’ by Carlene Davis
Released as part of Gospel Artiste Carlene Davis’ 2001 Sweet Reggae Christmas album, Santa Claus takes a more conscious approach. It speaks to crime, violence and the hard times suffered by those living in the inner city. This is not a bad song to bop to while making your Christmas dinner.
5. ‘Warm Jamaican Christmas’ by Wayne Wonder ft Baby Sham
This collaboration with Jamaican artistes Wayne Wonder and Baby Sham is low tempo song that combines and reggae and dancehall genres. It portrays the island as the place to be not only during Christmas, but all year round. Dancing to this song with your partner will most certainly have you feeling good.
