Eight grade-11 girls who board at the Westwood High School in Trelawny, have lost all their personal belongings including clothing, books, bedding, toiletries, uniforms, and devices to a fire that broke out in the grade-11 dormitory last night (February 9).

Although the fire has been extinguished and there were no reports of injury due to the blaze, the girls, who are to sit their final exams in two months, urgently require help to replace their lost items.

The Westwood Old Girls’ Association is set to have an emergency meeting to discuss the fire and determine what help can be given to the affected students.

Doreen King Dietrich, the president of the Westwood Old Girls’ Association, shared with Our Today that the association is still awaiting updates with regard to the full extent of the damage and will do its best to assist the affected girls.
