Popeyes Jamaica has announced the return of the highly anticipated Music To Your Mouth song competition for its second year, with an even bigger prize pool of over $600,000 in cash and prizes.
The competition is aimed at discovering and promoting young and upcoming singer-songwriters in Jamaica.
Last year’s inaugural competition attracted several talented young artistes who competed for the top prize, won by Aurra Soul. This year, the first prize has been raised to $250,000 cash, $25,000 in vouchers, production of the original song by Zimi Nick, a music video by RD Studios, and a first place trophy.

According to Oshane Thoms, Brand Manager for Popeyes and Little Caesars in Jamaica, entrants must be 18 years and over and submit a 2-minute video singing their original song, which should also be written by them. Entries must be submitted as reels on the entrant’s personal public Instagram account and tag and follow the Popeyes Jamaica Instagram page. The deadline for entries is Friday, April 14, 2023.
The judges from season one will return this year, including music producer Zimi Nick, recording artiste songwriter Qyor, and music video director Ruption. Sabrena McDonald Radcliffe, Head of Sales & Marketing, said that the competition aims to create a platform where the brightest potential in upcoming musical talents can showcase their songwriting and vocals, with the vision to facilitate the creation of good music similar to how Popeyes creates good food with care and a commitment to process and quality.
Popeyes Jamaica is committed to encouraging and nurturing new careers for even more talented artistes, as music continues to mean so much to individuals, their families, and communities. The Music To Your Mouth song competition is an opportunity for young and upcoming artistes in Jamaica to make their mark in the music industry and achieve their dreams.
