
The 2021-22 Budget Debate has been set to begin on March 9 with Dr Nigel Clarke, minister of finance and the public service, making his opening presentation.
Clarke will inform the nation how the $830.8-billion Budget for the new fiscal year, tabled in the House of Representatives on February 18, is to be funded.

Ahead of the Budget Debate, the Standing Finance Committee of the House will meet on March 3 and 4 to consider the Budget.
The Budget Debate will cotinue until March 23, with selected members of the Government and Opposition making presentations.

Julian Robinson, opposition spokesman on finance, planning and the public service, is slated to make his contribution on March 11 while Opposition Leader Mark Golding will speak on March 16.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness will make his presentation on March 18, before Clarke closes the Debate on March 23.
