First webinar to focus on tax matters

Flow Business Jamaica, which caters exclusively to small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs), will host a series of free quarterly webinars where small businesses can learn from industry experts about finance, marketing, sales and information communication technology (ICT) strategies that can grow their businesses, particularly in the current COVID-19 business climate.

The first webinar comes just in time for tax season. It will be held this Friday, March 26, starting at 10:00 a.m., under the theme, ‘Finance 101: Tax season is here, Are you ready?’

Panelists will include Debbie-Ann Gordon, tax attorney and partner at Debbie-Ann Gordon and Associates; Serika Sterling, entrepreneur and managing director, Senior Accounting Services Limited; and Dwayne Walters, head of MSME & Partner Channels, Flow Business Jamaica.

Discussions will focus on evolving tax obligations and digital tools to succeed.

In commenting on the webinars, Walters remarked that, “since the start of the pandemic, small businesses have been seeking ways to adapt by exploring alternate sales channels and implementing new technology solutions, some of which added complexity and made vital business functions, such as taxation, extremely challenging. In this webinar, we’ll help them to get a handle on evolving tax obligations.

“Additionally, Flow Business has seen it fit to share tools that will help small businesses to stand out by developing a presence, selling online, managing technical needs, and more. The head of MSME & Partner Channels at Flow Business Jamaica reported that small businesses won’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity.”

Said Walters: “We know that small business owners wear many hats and it’s difficult to be an expert in everything. The webinar series will provide key information from industry experts, thereby allowing SMBs to live up to their potential.”

The first 10 attendees at the upcoming Flow Business webinar will receive a free consultation with Sterling’s accounting and tax preparation firm, Senior Accounting Services Limited.
