Expect cool, wetter conditions over most parishes for the upcoming Easter weekend, according to the latest forecast from the Jamaica Meteorological Service.
The met service, in a statement on Thursday (April 1), noted that a trough will remain the dominant influence on weather for the next two days, giving way to a cold front by Saturday.
“On Saturday, a cold front is expected to move across Jamaica, before stalling and lingering just east for the remainder of the Easter weekend,” the Jamaica Met Service added.
For today, however, conditions will be mainly sunny for all parishes except those in the eastern section of Jamaica, where partly cloudy weather will persist.
Jamaicans in central and western parishes should expect isolated showers. It should be otherwise partly cloudy elsewhere.
See details of Jamaica Met Service’s three day outlook below:
- Friday: Partly cloudy morning. Afternoon showers across sections of most parishes, with isolated thunderstorms across hilly areas.
- Saturday: Cloudy morning across northern parishes. Afternoon showers across most parishes, with isolated thunderstorms across southern parishes. Lingering nighttime showers and windy conditions across northern parishes.
- Sunday: Intermittent showers across northern and southeastern parishes, otherwise mostly cloudy. Cool and windy especially across northern parishes.
