The Ministry of Health and Wellness is reporting that owing to an uptake in the demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, select vaccination sites have reached their maximum capacity to perform inoculations today.

The affected locations include:

  • All locations in Kingston & St. Andrew (National Arena, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Good Samaritan Inn, and Mona Ageing and Wellness Centre)
  • The Manchester High School
  • Sandals Inn (Kent Avenue) in St. James
  • All locations in Westmoreland (Darliston, Negril, Bluefields, and Savanna-la-mar health centres)

As a result of this, the ministry says that for its remaining vaccination centers priority will be given to persons with appointments and walk-ins are unlikely to be vaccinated today.

Despite this, the ministry is assuring the public that persons who are not vaccinated today will be able to participate in the next vaccination blitz, which will be announced at a later date.
