Crime Stop Jamaica is reporting a one-in-seven success rate from the 193 tips received for the first three months of 2021, resulting in more than $4-million worth of narcotics seized, property valued $870,000 recovered and 22 arrests.
The almost 200 tips represent a three per cent increase over the comparative period last year and Crime Stop is pushing for even more assistance from the public with the launch of its ‘Stand Up for Our Country Campaign’.
In a statement, Crime Stop said among the aims of the campaign is to “reclaim the spaces within our communities and re-imagine and redefine what it means to be a good citizen by promoting a shift in culture against the stigma attached to informing”.
“Let us all continue to play our part in protecting our home, our families, and our country.”
