What does a globally celebrated scientist based in Scotland with Jamaican roots share in common with a strikingly handsome Cameroonian who went from pursuing a Master’s degree in international relations in Central Africa to walking the runways of Paris?

Both men of varying accomplishments—scholar Sir Geoff Palmer and college student-turned-model Gedeon Kit— go Rolling with Deiwght Peters on the hit Television Jamaica talk show this Sunday (May 23).

It’s a virtual homecoming for the multi-hyphenate Palmer (researcher, human rights activist, author) who was raised in Allman Town, Kingston by eight aunts before emigrating to the United Kingdom in 1955 where he made his mark in the international brewing industry by discovering the barley abrasion process which in of itself was revolutionary, leading to him being bestowed with ‘the Nobel prize of brewing’ in 1998 with the American Society of Brewing Chemists Award of Distinction, and knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2014.

The 81-year-old Palmer’s storied life, Peters said after wrapping his Zoom interview with the octagenarian, “is a great character study in academic focus and lived experience that made for riveting conversation fodder from his scientific breakthroughs to his strident voice in calling for human rights and equality in his British community.”

Further to landing what he calls “a remarkable sit-down with an outstanding son of the Jamaican soil”, Peters will hopscotch to Africa for a televised chat with one of his SAINT model finds, Gedeon, who is already creating major interest from in the influential European fashion market.

Discovered through social media online just two years ago, Gedeon was given a vote of confidence by Peters and his photos submitted to the team of the Parisian luxury fashion house Balenciaga who promptly shortlisted him for the model cast of their Fall 2020 runway collection presentation.
