It’s been a hell of a come-up for Jamaican dancehall artiste Shenseea, who after five years in the making, is finally the ‘big leagues’.

American rapper Kanye West confirmed during his latest album listening event on Thursday (August 26) that the Run Run singer will feature on his upcoming album, Donda.

During the listening event, the Be Good singer’s vocals were heard on a song called Pure Souls, which also features American singer Roddy Ricch.

In describing what can only be considered an opportunity of a lifetime for the 24-year-old who has over the last few months been working hard to increase her international reach, Shenseea’s overseas A&R, Donny “Dizzy Clean Face” Flores revealed that it was her Hot97 Crocodile Teeth freestyle with Funkmaster Flex in July, which opened the doors for the Kanye collaboration.

In an Instagram post on Friday (August 27) Flores stated, “Just want to thank everyone on Kanye’s team for the opportunity. Just imagine Hot97 freestyle Is the reason we are here right now Never give up on your dreams.”

Though Shenseea singer has not yet put into words just how life-changing this experience has been for her and will be for her career once the album is released if the reactions from her fanbase are any indication, the release of Pure Souls will be a defining moment in the life of the singer.
