The Constant Spring Tax Office, also known as the St Andrew Revenue Service Centre.

The first phase of the Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate (MVRC) online service is now a reality.

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ), in collaboration with the Insurance Association of Jamaica and eGov Jamaica Limited, have integrated the TAJ’s Automated Motor Vehicle System with the Insurance Vehicle Information System to allow for the renewal of MVRC online.

This phase only allows customers of privately owned motor vehicles to pay online to renew their MVRC. The service allows users to pay online and pick up the MVRC and sticker within one to three business days, at one of six tax offices, involved at this time. They are Kingston Revenue Service Centre, St Andrew Revenue Service Centre, Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre, Spanish Town Tax Office, May Pen Tax Office and St Ann’s Bay Tax Office.

Persons will also be able to track the progress of the registration online using TAJ’s new Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal tracking facility.

To be able to renew their registration online, users must ensure the vehicle has valid fitness and insurance certificates, which will be electronically verified via the Island Traffic Authority and the insurance company’s databases.

Renewal will only be allowed if the certificate expires/expired within the current month or up to 11 months earlier.
