Owen Ellington appointed Transport Authority chairman

Former police commissioner Owen Ellington is reportedly set to become the new chairman of the Transport Authority.

This announcement was made by Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport Daryl Vaz at a conference today (June 15) held by the Transport Authority.

Vaz is expected to make the recommendation to Cabinet for Ellington to become the new chairman shortly.

Ellington is set to replace the outgoing chairman, Joseph Shoucair.

He is the 27th police commissioner of Jamaica and has been a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) for 34 years.
