iCreate announced this evening that founder Tyrone Wilson has resigned with immediate effect from his positions as President, CEO, and Director.
Arlene Martin, iCreate’s Chairperson, will step into the position of interim President and CEO.
Ivan Carter, a Director of the Board, steps in as Interim Chairman of the Board of Directors.
iCreate expressed gratitude for Wilson’s leadership and service but one has to wonder what was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The year 2023 has been a rocky year for Wilson.
In June of this year, a group calling itself “JSE Investors United” levelled accusations at iCreate of: inaccurate and misleading financial reports, delay in financial reporting of false company news, stock price manipulation, mismanagement of receivables due from related parties, and insider trading. Wilson emphatically denied all of these accusations. See Our Today story “Furore over iCreate tanks share price”
Wilson was also involved in a public spat with Kevin Frith of Ideas Execution. See Our Today Story “Tyrone Wilson and Kevin Frith make peace”
iCreate’s share price has dropped 42.37% in the first half of 2023.
One could say the writing was on the wall.
