ESSENCE of Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce: J’can sprint queen featured in January issue of American magazine

Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce is making her mark on and off the track, with her latest accomplishment being featured in the January issue of the top American monthly lifestyle magazine, Essence.

Fraser-Pryce made the announcement on Thursday, January 4, to her fans through a social media post on Instagram.

“I had the pleasure of being featured in the Jan/Feb 24 @essence issue that celebrates Black Women in sports. Thank you @missjabali for the thoughtful interview where we discussed life both on and off the track. On stands now,” she said.

Congratulations came pouring in on social media for the eight-time Olympic medallist following Thursday’s announcement.

“I was smiling ear to ear when I received my copy! Yuh mek we proud bad bad,” a fan said.

While another fan said: “Congratulations, how you have progressed. All the best for the Olympics.”

Essence is a widely read U.S.-based magazine for African-American women that covers lifestyle, beauty, fashion, culture, travel, among others.
