A two-year-long probe has led to the successful arrest of Krishna Barrett, a chef of Holland Village in St Elizabeth who is wanted for a 2021 murder.

Barret was arrested and charged with murder after an operation on February 1, by members of the St Elizabeth Police Division. An additional charge for being in possession of a prohibited weapon was also laid.

He was wanted for the murder of 34-year-old Isaiah Dixon, a farmer of the same community.

Head of the St Elizabeth police, Deputy Superintendent Coleridge Minto, is appealing to residents to share any information they may have on any crime committed in the parish.

He also sought to remind the public that harbouring a criminal is illegal, and those found in violation of the law will be prosecuted to the full extent.

Police reports indicate that on July 17, 2021, Barrett stabbed Dixon several times in the upper body. When the police arrived on the scene, the accused managed to escape. He eluded the police for over two years.
