The police have charged a 19-year-old with forcible abduction, attempted rape and sexual touching of a minor following an incident that occurred in January.

He is Marlon Samuels of Flamstead Gardens in St James.

Reports are that around 4 p.m, the minor was on her way from a nearby shop when she saw Samuels at a house. He reportedly told her to come over to the house but she continued to walk. Samuels reportedly grabbed her by the hands, pulled her inside the house and locked the door, after which he assaulted her.

The minor reportedly bit Samuels on his hand and managed to escape. She later reported the incident to her mother, who took her to the Center of Investigation for Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).

The man was arrested and later pointed out during an identification parade, which was held on Wednesday, January 24.

His court date is yet to be finalised.
