24-y-o charged for grabbing woman’s phone

The police have charged a 24-year-old man with larceny from the person following an incident along Industry Cove District in Hanover on Friday, March 1.

He has been named as Javaine Crooks, otherwise called ‘Ratty’, of Montego Hills, St James.

Reports are that about 9:30 p.m., Crooks allegedly attacked a woman as she made her way home from work and grabbed her cellular phone from her hand.

An argument reportedly ensued and Crooks refused to return the cellular phone, a black Samsung A11 valued at J$25,000.

The woman reported the incident to the police and Crooks was arrested and charged on Monday,
March 4.

He is scheduled to appear in the Hanover Parish Court on Wednesday, March 27.
