Owners of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) seeking targeted support for their entities will receive some extra special attention as the VM Building Society (VMBS) executes its “Bank on It” initiative this Saturday, May 25, 2024.

It’s the fourth stage of the initiative which is geared towards giving members and prospective members an extra day to access a range of financial services for personal or business needs.

Saturday’s opening will feature the activation of a business hub at the VMBS Half-Way Tree branch.

As part of the activities, representatives from Ramsay’s Professional Services will be on hand to assist owners of MSMEs in navigating business registration and other compliance matters, and the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) team will have information sessions aimed at sensitizing them about obtaining financial support for their growth ambitions.

The team from VM Pensions Management Limited will also guide business owners in developing suitable retirement solutions for their team members.

Assistant vice president for Lending Solutions and Business Services at VMBS, Latoya Williams, says the incorporation of the business hub was a deliberate move.

“In October 2022, we launched our suite of business solutions services, and as we continue to build out those services and provide greater financial support to MSMEs, we saw it fit to make it an area of strategic focus during this special initiative. To add value to the interaction, we will not only be emphasizing the products and services that VM offers to existing and potential business clients through which they can access development financing, but also exposing them through purposeful partnerships to other services that are critical to the sustainable development of their entities,” she shared.

In addition to the special business focus, all 16 VMBS branches islandwide will be open from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday to facilitate account opening, dormant account reactivation, credit card application, mortgage pre-approval, and auto loan application, among other services.

Individuals will also be able to register for VM Money Transfer’s Direct to Bank service at the Half-Way Tree, Duke Street, Portmore and, Ocho Rios branches.

People wishing to access personal banking services on the day should take bring valid government-issued identification and TRN, proof of address and, proof of income documents.
