Port Authority of Jamaica reopens harbours following safety review

The Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) announced on Thursday, July 4, that several major harbours have been reopened following comprehensive safety assessments after Hurricane Beryl.

Hurricane Beryl was a category 4 hurricane that impacted Jamaica on Wednesday (July 3). Islandwide damage assessments are still underway.

The harbours tha have been reopened are listed below:

  • Kingston Harbour
  • Port of Montego Bay
  • Falmouth
  • Ocho Rios/Reynolds Pier
  • Port Antonio
  • Portland Bight/Old Harbour Bay

Full port operations are set to recommence this morning, July 5.
