The first leg of Jamaican dancehall superstar Sean Paul’s Greatest Tour came to a close in Los Angeles recently with the tour thus far being described as a huge success.
During the tour, tens of thousands of fans who packed into the venues in Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston, Detroit, Austin, Denver, Chicago, and Dallas also got a musical taste from a few of Dutty Rock Productions labelmates. Regular touring partner, Terrence ‘Farenizzi’ Harold, who has travelled the world with Sean Paul for over 20 years, was among the opening acts for Greatest Tour, for all but one of the 22 shows.
Chi Ching Ching and Ras Ajai performed at 20 of the shows. “Well, I enjoyed all the cities on the Greatest Tour, it was lit,” shared Ching, born Radion Beckford who added, “but the ones that stick out the most are Boston, Atlanta and all the stops in Texas — Dallas, Houston and Austin.”
Chi Ching admits he has much to learn
As a touring artiste, Ching said he still has much to learn, and he got the chance to work on his craft in the US market. According to him, “I learned voice control on this tour. Ching songs come with a lot of vibe and energy, so if I shout they’re not gonna understand what I’m saying. When I enter the stage with that Bang!, the calmer I am on that beat the better they’ll be able to understand. So, that was the skill I got to develop, my voice control.”

As part of the Dutty Rock Productions Home Team, Ras Ajai had his first chance to experience life on the road. “It was one of the most exciting moments of my life to begin with being able to tour and open for the Legend Sean Paul. It was challenging, but also eye-opening and thought-provoking as well as a much-needed experience to further motivate and propel my growth as an artiste,” Ras Ajai, born Brian Boucher said.
Ras Ajai has been featured on several of Dutty Rock Riddims including No Drop U Guard (Brimstone, 2024); Sun’s Out (Summa Hot, 2023); Verified (No Caption, 2020); Money Fi Run (Gang, 2018) among others. Also gaining touring experience were Marcus I and Quan-Dajai, who caught the last dates of the tour in Anaheim, San Diego and Los Angeles.
Second leg of the tour kicked off
Sean Paul kicked off the second leg of ‘Greatest Tour’ at the Arras, France Main Square Festival to a 42,000 capacity crowd on July 4. His droves of fans were able to see his Badda Bandz and Dutty Rock Productions artistes in the United Kingdom at the Ricoh Arena on July 9 and the Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park on July 13.

Other stops in Europe include Genk, Belgium; Hamburg, Germany; Ostrava, Czech Republic; Cluj, Romania; and Nyon, Switzerland.
