Cavalier SC advanced to the final of the Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship following their 7-0 second-leg mauling of Moca FC of the Dominican Republic in a dramatic game at the National Stadium on Wednesday night.

The first-leg encounter in the Dominican Republic on October 24 finished in a 0-0 draw, so Cavalier won 7-0 on aggregate and will play in their second-consecutive final.

They await the winner of the Real Hope of Haiti versus Cibao FC of the Dominican Republic match, which will be in action tonight.

Cavalier were off to a fast start, leading 4-0, before Moca were reduced to nine men as goalkeeper Miguel Baez and Jesus Correa were dismissed following a half-time brawl.

Shaquille Stein scored a three-timer netting in the sixth, 45th and 62nd minutes while Kaile Auvray grabbed a double, scoring in the very first minute and 51st minute.

Two penalties by Christopher Ainsworth in the 39th and Dwayne Atkinson in the 79th completed the rout.

Auvray gave Cavalier the perfect start as his attempted cross sailed over the head of goalkeeper Baez and nestled into the back of the net.

Stein then doubled Cavalier’s advantage heading home from close range, before VAR awarded a penalty converted by Ainsworth, making it 3-0 and putting the game out of Moca’s reach.

Stein notched his second goal on a delicate Atkinson chipped pass and beat goalkeeper to the ball before slotting home for Cavalier’s fourth goal.

Afterwards came the nasty brawl following the half-time whistle between the Moca players resulting in Canadian referee dismissing Miguel Baez and Jesus Correa.

On the resumption, Auvray fired home from just outside the box, making it 5-0, then Stein got his three-timer tucking home a rebound after the goalkeeper blocked Atkinson’s angled shot.

Atkinson then got on the scoresheet with an audacious “Panenka” penalty chipping the ball into the back of the net as the goalkeeper dived in the opposite direction.
