Realtors Association of Jamaica (RAJ) President Newton Johnson has been appointed to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) International Board for 2025.
This is a monumental achievement for Johnson and the RAJ, as he becomes only the third RAJ President in history to sit on the NAR International Board. This further reinforces the RAJ’s influence and growing international presence.
“It is an incredible honour to be named to the NAR International Board,” said Johnson. “This appointment is not only a reflection of the work I have dedicated to the real estate profession but also a recognition of the outstanding achievements of the Association over the years. I look forward to representing Jamaica and advancing the interests of our REALTORS® at an international level.”
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is the largest trade organization of real estate professionals worldwide, with over 1.5 million members. For Jamaica to have representation on this esteemed board is a testament to the RAJ’s efforts to elevate the standards of the real estate profession, advocate for home ownership, and contribute to the country’s development. Following in the footsteps of only two past RAJ Presidents, Johnson’s appointment further cements Jamaica’s role as a key player in the global real estate community.
Johnson’s appointment comes as the RAJ continues to actively champion growth and innovation within Jamaica’s real estate industry. The Association remains focused on key initiatives such as advocating for streamlined legislative reforms, fostering professional development among its members, and enhancing public awareness about the importance of working with licensed Realtors through ongoing workshops, advocacy efforts, and public engagement campaigns, the RAJ is committed to advancing the real estate profession while supporting Jamaica’s national development goals.
Founded in 1966, the RAJ is a proud affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, with over 1,600 Realtors and affiliate members across the island. The Association’s mission is to connect its members with the tools, resources, and opportunities that empower them to advance their careers while championing professionalism, ethical standards, and the importance of home ownership in Jamaica.
Johnson’s historic appointment further highlights the RAJ’s commitment to these values and its leadership on the national and international stages.
This news comes at an exciting time for the RAJ, with Johnson’s appointment underscoring the continued progress of the Association and its members. Johnson, a real estate industry veteran with over two decades of experience, has been instrumental in shaping the RAJ’s strategic direction, mentoring new Realtors and advocating for ethics and transparency in real estate transactions.
As the RAJ continues to grow in influence, Johnson’s role on the NAR International Board will be pivotal in providing the Jamaican real estate community with international exposure and new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
