Starting her professional path at 16, Kerrie’s commitment to her goals has always set her apart. After spending an enriching 12 years in the UK, earning a law degree, she returned to Jamaica where she discovered her passion for investment banking and quickly became a top-performing wealth advisor.

Kerrie’s story at Barita Investments Limited is incredibly inspiring. She joined as one of the early hires following Cornerstone’s acquisition and had the exciting task of launching Barita’s wealth management division.

With only one advisor and a handful of high-net-worth corporate clients to start, she rolled up her sleeves and went to work. Thanks to her dedication and expertise, the division became the top performer within two years.

This incredible accomplishment paved the way for her promotion to her current role as vice president of strategic business development and investor relations in 2023, a role integral to Barita and the broader Cornerstone Group. 

In her current role, Kerrie is crucial in supporting the business and partnership development activities for Barita and the wider Cornerstone Group. She collaborates with various departments- sales, investment banking, asset management, treasury, and other client-facing teams to identify key relationships and business opportunities.

As the primary contact for targeted investor groups and shareholders, Kerrie develops and implements comprehensive investor relations strategies that align with the company’s goals.

Kerrie cultivates relationships in new client segments and geographical markets, driving initiatives to expand Barita’s footprint. Whether she’s organizing financial analyst meetings, earnings calls, or corporate mixers, her friendly, approachable demeanor makes her a favourite among clients and colleagues.

Her experiences extend beyond finance. Kerrie is a former beauty queen who represented Jamaica internationally as Miss Jamaica Universe from 2014 to 2015 and Miss Jamaica World in 2009. During her reign, she participated in the Tom Ford Runway Fashion Show in Russia and engaged in various charitable events. These experiences have enhanced her public speaking and leadership skills, allowing her to connect with diverse audiences effortlessly.

She is passionate about representing Jamaica on global platforms and engaging in philanthropic efforts that uplift our community.

Before joining Barita, Kerie worked as a wealth manager and portfolio advisor for other financial institutions. She honed her skills by managing a portfolio of over 200 clients, developing new business relationships, and executing trades in time-sensitive environments. These experiences have given her a strong risk assessment and portfolio management foundation.
