Royal Palm Estate beloved actor Munair ‘Sunny T’ Zacca has passed

Munair Zacca, the esteemed Jamaican actor renowned for portraying Sonny T in the classic soap opera Royal Palm Estate, has passed away at 82.

Zacca’s compelling performances captivated audiences, making him a beloved figure in Jamaican television. Beyond his iconic role in Royal Palm Estate, he showcased his versatility in films such as Shottas, in which he played Mr Anderson, and Kingston Paradise, portraying Munir.

The Jamaican entertainment community is mourning the loss of this talented actor, whose contributions made a big impact on the industry. Zacca was dedicated to his craft and had a substantial ability to bring depth and authenticity to his characters.

Fans of the actor reflect on Zacca’s contributions to Jamaican culture and the performing arts have taken to social media to bid the thespian farewell.

“I woke up to the news that Munair Zacca has left us! I am devasted. We messaged each other almost daily. Rest in peace my friend,” wrote Lawyer and former Jamaican High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Aloun Ndombet-Assamba.

“Big up yuh self, Zacca,” said fellow actor and photographer, Oraine Meikle. “You were always supportive of my work and it didn’t go unappreciated.”

Details regarding memorial services are yet to be announced and the cause of death has not been disclosed.
