Regional security giant Guardsman Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster cybersecurity among Jamaica’s small businesses.
Guardsman’s cyber arm, Guardsman Cyber Intelligence (GCI), is a unit that focuses on this particular and growing form of security.
More and more we hear of instances of cyber breaches and how they impact companies. The Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ) has drawn attention to this and has called for small enterprises to be protected and put measures in place.

Guardsman has also noted the rapid cases of cybercrime and endeavoured to address this, making cybersecurity an important part of its operations.
This MoU, signed at Guardsman’s Hope Road headquarters last Friday (July 18), is a strategic partnership which seeks to provide cutting-edge and affordable cybersecurity services tailored to the needs of SMEs while supporting compliance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act (JDPA) and other regulatory standards.
