Digicel Group is increasing the capacity of its board of directors with the appointment of American Laurent “LT” Therivel.
The regional telecommunications provider says Therivel’s appointment strengthens Digicel’s board at a time when the company is accelerating its transformation agenda across its 25 markets in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
The new director brings more than two decades of leadership experience in both the telecommunications and technology sectors, including distinguished roles as CEO of US Cellular, senior executive at AT&T, and a foundational career as a communications officer in the U.S. Marine Corps
“Laurent’s experience balances scale, innovation, and market complexity,” explained Rajeev Suri, chairman of Digicel Group.
“He is a respected voice in the global telecom industry, and we are privileged to welcome him to the board as we navigate the next chapter of Digicel’s growth.”
Therivel’s expertise spans operational execution, financial management, and strategic transformation in both complex emerging markets and highly regulated US environments.
“Digicel is at a critical and exciting inflexion point,” expressed Marcelo Cataldo, CEO of Digicel Group.
“Laurent’s operational expertise and strategic instincts will be a tremendous asset as we sharpen our focus on building the digital infrastructure and enterprise solutions that will define connectivity across our markets.”
