With the People’s National Party (PNP) expected to unveil its plans for Jamaicans through a manifesto to be launched this evening, Isat Buchanan said the PNP held back revealing its plans out of fear the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) might copy their ideas.

However, with the general election date announced for September 3, the PNP is now moving ahead with the disclosure of its manifesto.

Buchanan, who will represent the PNP for East Portland in the election, commented on his party’s concern about having its ideas stolen during a mass rally in the constituency on Saturday.

“All my seniors on the platform, and the next Prime Minister [Mark Golding], have a vision for you. That manifesto will be released on Tuesday. Fret not thyself.

“We know seh dem will thief so we wait til dem call it!” said Buchanan, who will face off with JLP favourite, Ann Marie Vaz.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced the election date on Sunday, August 10, during a mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew. Nomination day is Monday, August 18, for candidates who are to participate in the election.
