Dr Gabrielle Henry was officially crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 during a dazzling ceremony held on Saturday, August 5, at the AC Hotel in St Andrew.

In an exclusive interview with Our Today on Monday, she demonstrated a radiant, confident, and passionate persona, while beaming with pride about her heritage. Henry is now preparing to represent Jamaica on the global stage at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand on November 21.

The 29-year-old and resident Ophthalmologist in training at the University Hospital of the West Indies has captivated the nation with her poise and authenticity, sharing her excitement and eagerness to highlight the heart and soul of Jamaican culture on the international stage.

“If it’s one thing, I will play my music everywhere I go,” Henry said with a warm laugh. “I love reggae. I’m not much of a ‘raver,’ but I can do a little one-two step. But I am so excited to share our culture on the international stage.”

Though she won’t be able to bring the island’s iconic cuisine to the pageant, Henry is determined to embody the spirit of Jamaica wherever she goes.

“If I could bring the food, I would bring the food, but I can’t do that. I’m really excited to just network and connect with other ladies from other countries and just showcase who we are. Because like I said, at the core of Jamaica is our people, and I’m so proud to be a representative of our people.”

A passionate advocate for cultural exchange and personal empowerment, Henry says her strength lies in her individuality and strong sense of self.

“What will set me apart at Miss Universe is who I am—my individuality, my pride in my country, and my commitment to standing firm in my beliefs.”

Henry brings intelligence, elegance, and a grounded perspective to the Miss Universe stage, making her a standout among this year’s contestants.

From reggae to resilience, she promises to bring more than a crown—she brings the essence of Jamaica.
