PNP confirms successful nomination of all candidates ahead of Septmeber polls

The People’s National Party (PNP) says all its candidates have successfully completed their nomination proceedings following Monday’s official Nomination Day.

With energy, confidence, and the full backing of the people, the PNP is now firmly set to contest the upcoming September 3 parliamentary general election and “to deliver a government that will put the Jamaican people first”.

PNP general-secretary Dr Dayton Campbell noted that while there were challenges in a few constituencies, it was generally a smooth process.

He declared, “[Monday’s] nominations mark the beginning of the final leg of our journey toward victory. Every single PNP candidate was successfully nominated, and we stand united, ready, and committed to building a fairer, more just Jamaica under the leadership of Mark Golding.”

The nomination day proceedings were filled with vibrant, peaceful demonstrations of support from thousands of comrades across the country, reflecting the growing momentum and energy of the People’s National Party.

Several candidates shared their messages of commitment to their constituencies and to Jamaica’s future:

“This election is about a new generation stepping forward with fresh ideas and bold solutions. I am committed to fighting for equity, opportunity, and a Jamaica where every young person can see their future right here at home.” – Gabriela Morris, MP-candidate North West St Ann.

”Today, I am honoured to stand ready to fight for the men, women, and families of Central St Mary. I pledge to listen, to serve, and to be a strong progressive voice for the people as together we usher in a new era of growth and development”. – Omar Newell, MP-candidate Central St Mary.

“The people of Central Kingston are ready for change, and I stand ready to serve them with discipline, fairness, and dedication”. – Steve McGregor, MP-candidate Central Kingston.

“I am ready to serve the people with honesty, vision, and action, so that every community in the constituency, from Gregory Park to Portmore Pines, can share in Jamaica’s progress.” – Raymond Pryce, MP-candidate East Central St Catherine.

“The people of South West St Elizabeth deserve better representation and I am here to empower each and everyone of them, especially our farmers, youth, and small business owners. Their success is Jamaica’s success” – Miranda Wellington, MP-candidate South West St Elizabeth

“This Bay girl is ready to take home Central St James for the PNP. I know the hopes and struggles of our people, and I am committed to delivering the representation and results that this constituency deserves.”  – Janice Allen, MP-candidate Central St James.

Opposition Leader Mark Golding hailed the day as a powerful demonstration of the party’s readiness.

“Today we confirmed a full slate of outstanding candidates, men and women of integrity, vision, and commitment to service. They represent the very best of our movement. The People’s National Party is united, energised, and determined to deliver a government that prioritises fairness, opportunity, and dignity for every Jamaican,” he said.
