Dr Andrew Holness is to be sworn into office for a third time as Prime Minister on Tuesday, September 16, at a ceremony at King’s House, which starts at 4:00 pm.
Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen is to preside over the ceremony, which starts at 4:00 pm, King’s House confirmed.
The disclosure follows a meeting Tuesday between Dr Holness and Sir Patrick and comes on the heels of the September 3 General Election in which the Holness’ Jamaica Labour Party was victorious.
The JLP won the majority parliamentary seats, 35 to 28 for Mark Golding-led People’s National Party.
Golding had advised that all winning PNP candidates except one, who is currently travelling overseas, have written to Sir Patrick advising of their support of Golding, which clears the way for his swearing-in.
No date has been released for the swearing-in to take place.
