SAINT International star Dru Campbell opened the Off-White show at New York Fashion Week

It was an impressive first outing at the recently concluded New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for SAINT International breakout star Dru Campbell.

The 18-year-old Jamaican supermodel-in-the-making hit the runway in eight major designer and fashion house shows, including Tory Burch, Jason Wu and Coach for NYFW, which ran September 11 to 16.

“I didn’t expect to do so well in New York since it was my first season there, but thankfully everything worked out,” Campbell shared in an exclusive interview with Our Today from Italy, mere moments after her catwalk turn for Alberta Ferretti Spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection show on the first day of Milan Fashion Week on Tuesday, September 23.

For the SAINT star, The Big Apple was uncharted waters as she had previously only strutted catwalks at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks for seasonal designer collections in Europe for luxury brands Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Dior, and Balmain.

Landing in New York early this month, Campbell, who is signed to the powerful Elite Models agency network globally, shared: “I started doing castings for shows on September 4. I did about 14 in all, and got 8 shows, so I was extremely proud”

The New York newbie model had high praise for her Elite booking agent in the city, George Speros. “Even though our relationship is very professional, he’s very relatable and easy to speak with,” she lauded.

Campbell’s NYFW foray kicked off on opening day with her Look 17 appearance at designer Michael Kors’ collection show, sporting a sunlit saffron-hued blazer and tapered trousers teamed with a fringed oversized handbag. The following day was a Dru double-booking, with a morning appearance for Calvin Klein’s creative director, Veronica Leoni’s collection at the Brant Foundation in the city’s East Village. This was followed by a late-afternoon appearance for Off-White’s latest reveal titled ‘Pop Romance’ that showed at the Lower East Side’s New Design High School. Campbell was the opening model for off White’s creative director Ibrahim Kamara’s 49-piece collection.
“It felt exciting opening Off-White since it was my first time being the first model in a show, but I was also very nervous,” she recounted of the experience.

Elsewhere throughout the week, the Belmont, Clarendon-raised Campbell strutted for designers Ulla Johnson and Anna Sui to round out her inaugural run in the City That Never Sleeps.

Now living a life of constant air travel and a fixture in the world’s fashion cities, home is never far from Campbell’s mind. “I am very proud to be from Clarendon, it’s where I grew up connecting with friends and family,” she told Our Today. “It also identifies who I am, so of course, I’m proud of my roots.”

Away from The Rock, she misses the taste of tropical cuisine the most. “Jamaican food is so different from other countries, so I always find myself reminiscing about my grandmother’s Sunday dinners, so I am always drooling thinking about it.”

As she readies to prepare for the next day’s series of designer show collections in Milan, where she is currently, the SAINT model closes out our conversation, pointing to the three things she loves about her model life.

“What I love about being a model is that it helps me to grow confidence. Travelling gives me the opportunity to experience different countries and cultures, and lastly, I get to meet new people and make friends.”

Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has noted with concern the recent public comments made by the Assistant Commissioner of INDECOM, Hamish Campbell, suggesting that it is a “perfectly legitimate approach” for the Commissioner of Police and senior leadership of the JCF to speak publicly on fatal shootings under investigation in order to reassure communities.

This statement comes from the fatal killing of 22-year-old Jamar Farquharson in Cherry Tree Lane, Clarendon, on September 15, despite footage from his residence showing him surrendering to police officers.
