Canopy Insurance Limited has partnered with MDLink to offer its Group Life clients a new wellness benefit: a free one-hour virtual mental health consultation each month, starting October 1.
The initiative positions Canopy as one of the first insurers in Jamaica to embed regular, no-cost mental health consultations into its coverage, reflecting a growing recognition that overall health must include emotional and psychological well-being.
“At Canopy, we understand that true wellbeing extends beyond physical health,” said Oliver Tomlinson, Canopy Insurance Limited. “This partnership with MDLink allows our Group Life members to access reliable, confidential support each month, helping them to better manage stress and prioritise mental wellness. It’s another step in our mission to add meaningful value to our members’ lives.”
“As the Caribbean’s leading telemedicine provider, MDLink is committed to making healthcare more accessible and convenient,” said Dr Ché Bowen, CEO of MDLink. “By working with Canopy, we are expanding access to licensed mental health professionals while supporting Canopy’s drive to offer more holistic coverage for its members. Together, we are helping to break down barriers to care and promote healthier communities.”
The benefit is available to all current and new Group Life members, who may schedule their monthly consultation directly through MDLink’s secure platform. Sessions are held virtually, offering convenience and confidentiality for clients wherever they are located.
By integrating ongoing mental health consultations into its Group Life offering, Canopy intends to advance accessible wellness benefits and set a new standard for the insurance industry in Jamaica.
