Throp-X, the investment and real estate conference based in Negril, Westmoreland, will return for its fourth staging on November 16 -22, 2025, under the theme ‘Transforming Uncertainty into Opportunity’ and the tagline ‘Discovering Tomorrow’s Jamaica Today’.
This year’s conference will be held at the Travellers Beach Resort in Negril, with financial journalist Kalilah Reynolds, well known for her online business podcast Taking Stock, taking on hosting duties. Over the week, attendees will hear from a line-up of developers, realtors, bankers, mortgage institutions, and government agencies, including the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) and Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ).
There will be three urgent areas of focus during the conference: due diligence and risk management in Jamaican real estate, financing tools and mortgage pathways for locals and diaspora, and Jamaica’s positioning as a global investment safe haven.
“This staging responds directly to a year marked by stalled or delayed real estate developments in Jamaica. Rather than focus on setbacks, we are positioning Throp-X as the beacon of hope and a platform where transparency, due diligence, and confidence are strengthened,” explained CEO Winthrope Wellington.

The theme reflects both local and global realities while acknowledging wider political and economic volatility. The tagline captures the conference’s forward-looking vision, positioning Jamaica as a safe haven for investment and wealth creation.
Expanded offerings
The event has grown from a modest three-day gathering in 2022 to a six-day, action-oriented experience. In just three years, Throp-X has evolved from a conference centred on education and inspiration into a movement where investors, professionals, and the Jamaican Diaspora can turn ideas into tangible outcomes. Distinguishing itself, the 2025 edition of ThropX introduces a more hands-on approach with the expanded Getting Business Done Day.
“This expansion reflects the broader scope and scale of the event. What began as a three-day gathering is now a six-day conference with curated social experiences, deeper networking opportunities, and a more diverse mix of panellists and partners. Each year builds on the last, but 2025 represents the most comprehensive and practical staging yet,” Wellington shared.
During the Getting Business Done Day, participants will be able to open bank accounts, start their mortgage application process, apply for Tax Registration Numbers (TRNs), and begin business processes on-site with support from TAJ, banking partners and others.

Another major addition for 2025 is the expansion of the real estate showcase into a two-day tour. This year’s programme will feature a dedicated one-day tour of Negril real estate, along with a new one-day tour highlighting opportunities in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth.
Treasure Bay Estates, this year’s Platinum Real Estate Development Sponsor, will be featured as part of the Treasure Beach showcase. As one of the area’s most anticipated new developments, Treasure Bay Estates reflects the type of vetted, forward-looking opportunities that Throp-X is committed to highlighting for investors.

“There is tremendous momentum in the area, and I am especially excited to showcase these opportunities to our attendees,” Wellington outlined.
