The case against Leona Bradshaw and three others in connection with the murder of MP Phillip Paulwell’s 10-month-old daughter, Sarayah Paulwell, and her mother, Toshyna Patterson, is set for trial, starting in September 2026.
The Home Circuit Court, on Wednesday, allocated the period from September 26 to November 23, 2026, for the trial.
According to police reports, the mother and her child were abducted outside their St Andrew home on September 9, 2023 and taken to a location in East Kingston, where they were shot and their bodies burnt.
Four people were later charged with their deaths, two of whom have pleaded guilty. The remaining two defendants—Bradshaw, Phillip’s American companion with whom he shares a child, and her cousin Roland Balfour—remain before the court.
Bradshaw, a 34-year-old United States Navy officer, is accused of plotting the murders. She is also alleged to have paid approximately J$100,000 to the hitmen as part of a down payment of the J$500,000 for the killings.
It is alleged that with the help of her cousin and co-defendant Balfour, Bradshaw contracted men, including the now-convicted Rushane Miller and Richard Brown, to kidnap and murder the mother and daughter.
