The Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International University of Logistics and Transport (IULT) in Wroclaw, Poland, marking a major milestone in the university’s drive for global collaboration and academic excellence.
The IULT, ranked among the top ten private universities in Poland, has partnered with the CMU to promote the exchange of staff and students, as well as opportunities for scholarships, joint research, and postgraduate studies.
“This partnership opens a new chapter for both institutions,” said Professor Andrew Spencer, CD, JP, President of the Caribbean Maritime University. “It’s about creating access, expanding global networks, and giving our students and staff a chance to gain exposure in one of Europe’s most respected logistics and transport universities.”
The agreement, signed by Professor Spencer and Dr Marcin Pawęska, Rector of the IULT, also paves the way for joint master’s degree programmes and streamlined access for CMU graduates to pursue postgraduate studies at IULT.
During his visit to Poland, Professor Spencer also met with the leadership of Polska Unia Transportu (the Polish Transport Union), including its President, Leszek Luda, and Vice President, Grzegorz Wiśniewski, as well as with Professor Ruphin Ndjambou, President of the Institute of Advanced Economic and Entrepreneurial Studies (IHEE), to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
Professor Spencer added, “We’re serious about positioning the CMU as a global player in maritime and logistics education. This collaboration reflects our commitment to developing talent that can compete and lead anywhere in the world.”
The partnership underscores the CMU’s ongoing mission to deepen international ties and enhance the quality of education and research available to its students.
